Dr. El-Karim Rhemtulla, MD, a Cambridge University graduate, holds an Honors BA in Immunology and Cellular Pathology. As a Cambridge-Shell scholar, he conducted research in Xenobiology. After completing medical training at Cambridge University School of Clinical Medicine, he interned in the UK before moving to Toronto. He joined the MSc program in Vision Sciences and pursued ophthalmology residency at the University of Toronto. Achieving Fellowship of Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada, he joined Hotel Dieu Hospital in Niagara, specializing in cataract surgery, glaucoma, and medical retina care. He played a key administrative role at Niagara Health, serving as Chief of Ophthalmology. Dr. Rhemtulla is actively involved in educational activities and is a member of various professional societies.
